On the field

Today was my first trip to the field, we went to Les Cayes, a town on the south of PAP. The landscape is similar to the one you can find in areas of north of Colombia such as Cordoba or Sucre. Getting out of PAP is a nightmare, there is so much traffic, so disorganized plus the fact streets are in a really bad shape. On the way of PAP, we passed by like the central area, it's really caotic and extremely dirty. I think it's not surprising that epidemies such as colera appear quite frequently. There is no a proper system of garbage collection, nor of a sewer system. Once we took the road, things changed. Roads were in a much better shape and there was no so much garbage around.
Regarding food I must say so far I haven't had something particularly different. I've been on the patacones (eg banane frite) and papaya regimen, as I have them everyday!!. The rice is basic in any meal and is really good. They put a lot of onions and peper to the meals, which give them a really good taste. The national beer is called Prestige and is good. They also eat a lot of "cabrit", though I haven't tasted it yet.
